So many people have asked when our field trips will begin again. Mark your calendar for March 30. This is a free event.
We’ll start 10 am at Pioneer Park to join a car caravan before we go to our first stop at Cactus Flats, that’s north of Mitsubishi Cement on Hwy 18. We’ll stop for a lunch break so bring a sack lunch and drinks.
Bring your camera, a hat, and water, as we explore the historic area and walk where the cowboys and miners walked. The next stop of the day
is down to the Cushenbury Springs area below Mitsubishi, where we will delve into a rich history from nomadic American Indians to mining, to turkey ranches, and even a secret meeting place. Cushenbury has a lot to offer…
Next, we will stop at Midway Schoolhouse at Midway Ave and Rabbit Springs Road. Pack a lunch, will eat under the trees, learn about the many schoolhouses that have graced the valley, their challenges, disasters, and accomplishments through them all.
After lunch, we will travel over to Chimney Rock, at the West end of town, and explore the history of the last recorded Indian battle.
This will be a driving tour so a reliable vehicle will be necessary but we will not be doing any off-road adventuring this trip. A map of locations will be provided soon.
If you wish to participate please click “going” on the event page and “comment” your name to verify you meant to click going. 😜

Many more special events and presentations are coming.
