“Giving Tuesday” for Donations to your Favorite Nonprofits

Each year as a seasonal reminder for remembering how fortunate we are, hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the country … and the world … are receiving your donations. “Giving Tuesday” that follows Cyber Monday and Black Friday is a strong campaign to draw more monies to deserving groups working amid our day-to-day routines.

Without these donations, many nonprofits would not make it through the year. And at this time, when money is needed most, they are hoping that you will take a moment to gift them, too. Today is Giving Tuesday.

Lucerne Valley Museum will be vetted and on the list next year for Giving Tuesday sponsored by “Guide Star” and Foundation Center (that recently merged) providing the clearinghouse of certified nonprofits.

After more than 30 years, Guide Star is now known as Candid.org and their mission remains to connect nonprofits with resources they need, and to offer a directory of worthy causes. They also offer a database of grantors who state their particular needs and calendar of grant proposals they consider.

Grant writers rely on a pool of certified nonprofits when they tap into the requests for proposals that lay the groundwork for a nonprofit to request funds. Lucerne Valley Museum will be tapping into this resource as well as requesting donations through Candid.org.

We will still actively raise funds for our local projects, ask for donations, become certified with Candid, and rely on local donations throughout the year. As we become more active and transparent on the Internet, we hope that you will see our steps toward progressive goals in 2020.
